Wrinkle/Teeth Grinding Treatments

– Don’t lie down for 4 hours post treatment – this particularly relates to not lying on your face (ie attending a massage) where your facial muscles are compressed or altered from their normal resting position as this may alter the effect of the product placement.

– Don’t touch the injection sites for 12 hours immediately following treatment – this reduces the risk of infection transmitted from hands.

– Don’t massage the treatment area for 24 hours – this ensures the product remains in the location where it was precisely placed to achieve the best effect.

– No strenuous exercise for 24 hours – this relates to product placement, reducing infection and reducing bruising and bleeding due to increased blood pressure and heart rate when exercising.

– Do not use a sauna or spa for 24 hours – this relates to infection control as well as bleeding and bruising reduction.

– Don’t drink alcohol for 24 hours post treatment – this relates to bleeding and bruising and minimizing the risk of product interaction.

– Be aware that it can take up to 14 days for the full effect of the treatment to take place – the majority of patients will notice a minor change in the strength of their muscles after 3 days, however the maximum effect occurs at 14 days and during this time there may be muscle asymmetry which is normal.

Volume Enhancing Treatments

– Don’t touch the injection sites for 12 hours immediately following treatment – this relates to reducing the risk of infection transmitted from hands.

– No strenuous exercise for 24 hours – this relates to both product placement, reducing infection and reducing bruising and bleeding due to increased blood pressure and heart rate when exercising.

– Do not use a sauna or spa for 24 hours – this relates to infection control as well as bleeding and bruising reduction.

– Don’t drink alcohol for 24 hours post treatment – this relates to bleeding and bruising and minimising the risk of product interaction.

– Avoid any dental work for at least 2 weeks prior to treatment and at least 4 weeks post treatment (unless deemed medical necessary) to prevent infection and ensure the dermal filler settles properly.

– Do not use AHA, Retinols/Vitamin C therapies or oil-based makeup for 24 hours – this relates to reducing the risk of infection and skin trauma

– Avoid pressure on treated areas for the first few nights post treatment. If possible, sleep on your back – this relates to product being placed in precise locations to achieve the desired cosmetic outcome.

– Avoid facials, facial waxing, Glycolic or AHA peels, IPL or energy-based treatments and microdermabrasion for two weeks after treatment – this relates to skin trauma and reducing the risk of infection and interaction with product.

– Do not massage the treated area unless instructed by your treating Nurse – this relates to the precise placement of the product as well as reducing the risk of infection through transmission from hands.

– If a small lump occurs after filler treatment you can massage area gently or discuss this with BeautyFULL CMC whom will advise accordingly.

– It can take up to 2 weeks for bruising and swelling to subside.

– It can take up to 4 weeks for the dermal filler to settle.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs):

Q: My filler has disappeared?
A: Rome was not built in a day. Your initial result will be largely due to swelling. Upon settling, it is up to the you to come back for more sessions every 4-8 weeks until your desired result and goal is achieved. Please keep in mind, most photographs seen on social media platforms are generally immediately post treatment where swelling and potential bruising is present.
All dermal fillers require maintenance every 6-9 months once you have received your desired result and goal, and durability varies depending on your genetics and lifestyle. This is not a one-off treatment. You should consider this when budgeting. In rare/unlucky cases the body can break down dermal filler at a much faster rate than normal, which affects the length of time to build desired results. We understand that this can be frustrating for the client, but it is not damaging.

Q: How many ML/Unit did they have?
A: This is similar to asking how long does it take to fill the pool? Well it depends on the size of the pool, how deep someone wants the pool, and how quick the water is evaporating from the pool?
Please don’t get too caught up in what worked for someone else, because your genetics are no doubt very different. Be prepared to go up or down a ML/unit during your appointment, as it is impossible to tell with precise accuracy how much product is required until we have started the appointment and we can determine depths. Please budget for this to avoid disappointment just in case you need more than expected on the day and don’t worry – if you need less, we will always tell you!!!

Q: Will I bruise?
A: More than likely. The face has millions of capillaries, which are impossible to avoid. Human anatomy is complex and unforgiving. You might be lucky – but be prepared and be realistic. Please be mindful of any important events post procedure.
World Health Organization published clinical data suggesting the prevalence of Anaemia. It affects 1.62 Billion people in the world’s total population, and the population with the greatest number of individuals affected is non-pregnant women (468.4 million). If you bruise significantly, we highly recommend purchasing Arnica Tablets to minimise the length of time the bruising is apparent (as per your pharmacist’s recommendation/advice). Your treating Nurse recommends you seek medical advice (i.e. GP or Specialist) as a result of moderate to severe bleeding or bruising during your treatment.

Q: I’m travelling abroad or afar, will that make a difference?
A: Please make us aware if you have a lengthy journey (in excess of one hour), so we can do our best to ensure that there is a practitioner on standby in the event of our staff being unable to attend. Although this is rare – there is associated delayed complications that can occur post treatment. We recommend you to be in close proximity to BeautyFULL CMC in case of a potential complication for approximately 4 weeks.
Although rescheduling an appointment is rare, the clinic may require to reschedule your appointment. If your appointment is rescheduled, we cannot be held responsible for the cost of your travel expenses in the event an appointment is rescheduled. Please bare this in mind when booking and choose flexible booking options where possible.

Q: Will I get lumps?
A: Possibly, but in most cases, you cannot visibly see them. In the event that a lump/s forms that does bother you, the lump/s can be dissolved relatively safely (there is always a potential risk of allergic reaction, etc) with minimal pain. Minor lumps are relatively common and providing you go to an experienced practitioner, any lumps that may form will generally have nothing to do with the skill of the injector! Lumps can occur post bruising, choice of product, how well the dermal filler binds and integrates to your natural tissue and the interaction of different brands of HA being injected. However, it is important to remember that how our bodies react to dermal filler is unpredictable. Severe reactions are rare due to HA (Hyaluronic acid) being found naturally in the body.

Skin Needling Treatment

– DO NOT PICK skin crusting as this may lead to a scar!
– Keep your skin hydrated by drinking water
– If you experience skin irritation, we recommend the application of a Cooling Face Mask
– Avoid Sun Exposure
– We do not advise the use of sunscreen immediately after the procedure. You can apply a mineral sunscreen once the skin has healed over, approximately 24 hours after your Skin Needling treatment. Sun Block with a SPF 50+ is mandatory and should be applied every 2 hours during daylight after 24 hours post treatment.
– Do not Use Skin Products Containing Active Ingredients
– The Skin Needling treatment will leave your skin in a highly sensitive state, so we recommend that you avoid all skin care products that contain any kind of ‘active ingredients’ such as retinol, alpha hydroxyl acids and Vitamin C.
– You can incorporate these products back into your regime 3-5 days after your treatment, or as recommended by your BeautyFULL CMC nurse.
– Avoid Using Makeup for at least 24-48 hours after treatment
– Using make up brushes can irritate the open skin, and if there’s any bacteria on the brushes you run the risk of developing a skin infection.
– Avoid activities or situations that make you sweat
– Prior to and immediately after don’t take any anti-inflammatory medications
– Use a Gentle Cleanser
– Do not use Collagen Stimulating Peptides

Treatment day and up to 24hrs after, please avoid the following:

Please do not apply toners, astringents or aloe vera to the treated area

Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP)/Collagen Stimulant Treatment (Pre-Treatment Instructions)

Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) procedures have a favourable safety profile as the injection is from the patient’s own blood and produced on-site and ready for injection within 30 minutes of the blood collection. However, as the PRP is extracted from a patient’s blood sample, the PRP captures components circulating within blood at the time of blood collection. The effectiveness of the treatment and the patient’s response can vary depending on their general and platelet health.

Optimal health: As PRP procedure is considered an ‘elective’ procedure, it should only be performed when the patient and their circulating platelets are in optimal health. Delay PRP until 4 weeks after any bacterial or viral illness, ill-health or vaccination. The procedure is intended to initiate and sustain a boosted healing response which includes positive inflammation. If patient is experiencing an allergic, or heightened immune response episode, PRP should be delayed.

As the injection is their own biology, PRP is suitable for most patients; however, individuals with the following conditions may not be suitable candidates for the procedure. Please contact our staff prior to the scheduled procedure if any of the following apply to you currently, as we may not be able to perform your procedure:

  • Unwell with virus, influenza, COVID, bacterial infection, allergies or vaccination in last 4 weeks
  • Platelet disorders and blood disorders
  • Cancer, Chemotherapy or Radiotherapy
  • Acute and Chronic Infections (currently being treated)
  • Severe systemic or metabolic conditions/ disorders
  • Anti-coagulation therapy (Warfarin is not a PRP contraindication, but may be for the procedure)
  • Use of oral corticosteroids within 10 days prior to PRP procedure
  • Pregnancy or breastfeeding.
  • Previous difficulty with blood collection (for regular pathology tests)

Please seek advice from your GP prior to ceasing any medication for your PRP injection. Patients who have had a prior cardiovascular, stroke, clotting event should not change cardiovascular medication schedule

To maximise the potential healing effect from the PRP we recommend the following guidelines

10 days before the procedure:

• Oral corticosteroids (eg prednisone) are likely to diminish the potential for regeneration from the PRP procedure. Please discuss if your medication dose can be reduced for 10 days prior and 10 days after the procedure with the PRP clinic.

1 week before the procedure:

• Please do not take any Aspirin or medications containing Aspirin for 5 days prior to the procedure, unless they have been recommended by your doctor to reduce your risk of a blood clot, stroke, cardiac event or if required for migraine headaches etc. Patients can continue their Warfarin, Eliquis.

• Supplements that are known to increase bruising should also be ceased – Garlic, Ginko, Ginseng, Green Tea, Vitamin E, Multi-vitamins, Omega 3,6 and fish oils.

• Topical medications & high strength cosmeceuticals containing Vitamin A, Retinol, Glycolic acid should be ceased 5 days prior as their interaction and effect on the local anaesthetic gel and PRP is not known

• Avoid procedures such as – microdermabrasion, aggressive peels and exfoliants as it may make the skin more sensitive to the topical local anaesthetic gel.

2 days prior to the procedure:

• Discontinue any non-steroidal anti-inflammatory medications such as Nurofen, Ibuprofen, Voltaren, Celebrex, Mobic, or any other prescribed anti-inflammatory medications, for 2 days prior until 10 days after the PRP therapy.

• Minimal caffeine, alcohol and fatty food and ideally have a healthy diet

• Minimal coffee, caffeine, fatty food, alcohol; focus on a healthy diet and good hydration

• Try to have a good night’s sleep prior to the day of the procedure as it may assist a higher platelet yield

Day of procedure

• Drink at least one litre of water and refrain from excessive exercise (to assist blood collection)

Have a low-fat meal for meal prior to PRP procedure and be well hydrated. DO NOT FAST.

• You will not be able to take any anti-inflammatory medication (eg: Nurofen) for ten days after the procedure. Have Panadol / Panadeine Forte available at home in case you need some mild pain relief.

• Follow all post-procedure instructions provided by your doctor to ensure optimal healing and avoid complications such as infection or irritation.

We recommend that these instructions are followed so that you can maximise the results from your PRP procedure.

Please contact our clinic at: [email protected] with any questions prior to the procedure.

Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP)/Collagen Stimulant Treatment (Aftercare Instructions)

Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) injection using Alocuro Platelet-concentrating Technology to Collect 90% Platelets from your Blood Sample, for Purpose of Skin Treatment

Platelet dose: Platelets from 30 mls of your blood were collected for injection

The Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) injected into your skin is prepared from your own blood, making it biologically compatible and generally well-tolerated. The treatment is intended to deliver a significant regenerative stimulus from your platelet-released growth factors, bioactive proteins and exosomes.

Support your platelets – Platelets are considered ‘intelligent’ and will release the regenerative growth factors and proteins your skin requires, in the same way your skin would naturally heal a small cut. However, the PRP procedure will deliver a high dose (many billions) of these powerful proteins, especially in the first 48 hours. Please read this information to help explain how you can best to support your platelets to complete their regenerative work, so you can gain the best possible result.

PRP is not a “quick fix” – Tissue regeneration takes time. Healthy habits support good outcomes: a balanced diet, limited caffeine and alcohol, and adequate sleep. Your skin’s regenerative response varies between individuals based on age, general health and baseline skin condition. Most patients notice improvement in overall skin appearance by week 4, with further improvements up to week 12. Patients will usually require up to 3 PRP applications, performed 4 weeks apart. Thereafter single treatments are recommended at 6-12 months to maintain results.

What to expect after injections – the ‘first phase of regeneration’ – PRP delivers a high dose of bioactive proteins and growth factors into the dermis to stimulate your body’s normal healing response to ageing skin. Because the growth factors are highly concentrated, the regenerative response and healing activity will be felt by the patient. The treated area may feel as if it has been injured; mildly sore, tender to touch and warm. These symptoms can last up to 3 days, then should settle.

Hyper-responders – For facial skin injections, local under-eye swelling may occur and is often visible at the time of the procedure. A very small % of patients can experience a stronger-than-usual early healing response, termed a ‘hyperresponse’, within the first hour after treatment, and may feel uncomfortable. Your practitioner will assess and, if needed, apply ice briefly to calm the regenerative response area and minimise downtime.

If swelling progresses after you leave the clinic: contact the clinician who performed your PRP procedure

  • Apply a cold pack wrapped in a cloth for 5-10 minutes, up to 3 times per day.
  • Sleep with an extra pillow on the first night to help reduce under-eye swelling.
  • Use very light fingertip sweeping massage to assist lymphatic drainage under the eye. Using your little finger, sweep gently on the skin, from the inner to the outer eye.

If moderate or significant discomfort occurs, contact the clinician who performed your PRP procedure. If appropriate for you, they may recommend an antihistamine and NSAIDs, together with intermittent icing (10 minutes on, 10 minutes off) to calm the hyper-response. Follow your clinician’s advice if it differs from the general pain-relief guidance below.

To maximise healing benefit from the PRP therapy we strongly recommend:

Immediately post procedure

• After the PRP procedure, it is recommended not to wash your face with cleansers or apply liquid make-up for at least 12 hours post-procedure. If you need to wash your face prior, please do so only after 4 hours – please use warm water without soap.

• Minimal alcohol, coffee, caffeine; and nil supplements that may increase bruising for 2 days post procedure.

• Nil exercise that would usually either create a flushed face or excessive facial perspiration for 24 hours

• Avoid direct sun exposure for 24 hours

1 week post procedure

• Avoid extreme temperatures (e.g. saunas, steam rooms)

• Avoid active skincare for 5-7 days (e.g Vitamin A, AHAs, Vitamin C, etc)

Pain Relief

• If pain relief is needed, please use Panadol only (dose as usual for you)

• Please do not use any anti-inflammatory medication (eg: Nurofen) or topical gel (eg: Voltaren) or oral steroids (eg: Prednisone) for 10 days post procedure, or longer, if possible

• For patients who regularly take aspirin, this can be resumed 48 hours after the procedure, unless otherwise directed by the attending Doctor for your procedure

If you have any concerns, contact your treating doctor or the Alocuro PRP provider who performed the procedure.

Although infections are rare, please contact the clinic at: [email protected] if you experience progressive swelling, redness, skin oozing or changes, or fever; or local Accident & Emergency if after-hours.

PDO Threads Treatment

MINT (Minimally Invasive Non-surgical Thread) is made of polydioxanone (PDO), a synthetic biodegradable monofilament that stimulates collagen production as it dissolves. There are a number of potential risks that you should be aware of prior to being treated with MINT. Whilst cosmetic treatments such as MINT are effective in most cases, there is a risk that it won’t be effective in your case or that the outcome will not be what you hoped for. The results of this procedure may not fully meet your expectations. Failing to achieve the outcome you hoped for or experiencing side effects may have a psychological impact as well as a physical one.

As with other similar treatments there are a number of possible side effects associated with MINT. These side effects include, but are not limited to:
– Treatment related reactions e.g. swelling, redness, pain, itching, discolouration or tenderness where the threads are placed. These reactions usually resolve spontaneously within several days after the treatment;
– After the treatment there can be puckering/irregularity of the skin which will resolve spontaneously within several days after the treatment;
– Adverse reactions to the implant material (bioresorbable suture threads) e.g. hypersensitivity reactions, allergic reactions, asymmetry, banding, dimpling, inflammation, infection, excessive bruising (hematoma), accumulation of fluid, inadequate healing, damage to deeper structures, sensory nerve injury, skin discolouration, localised circulation problems, blood clots or obstructions in blood supply or abscess formation at the implant site which may in turn result in hardening and/or scar formation;
– The formation of nodules (lumps) or granulomas (a collection of inflamed cells) which may require removal or other treatment;
– Other adverse reactions to those mentioned above, could occur.

If any of the above mentioned symptoms or signs occur, please alert your treatment provider or clinic immediately.

If you have any of the following, a MINT Thread treatment should not be undertaken:
– Acute inflammatory process or skin diseases in the area to be treated, acute respiratory viral infection, any chronic diseases in their acute phase, arterial hypertension, HIV infection, viral hepatitis, autoimmune and somatic diseases, haemophilia, propensity to form keloid scars, polyvalent allergy, oncological diseases, pregnancy, lactation, mental and neurotic disorders.

Rejuran Treatment

Aftercare:

– Keep the treated area hydrated by applying a moisturizer or serum regularly.

– A daily hydrating mask can be applied to boost the skin regeneration.

– Apply a broad-spectrum sunscreen with an SPF of 50+.

– No make up for 24 hours.

– If you experience prolonged erythema and/or heat, a cool compression may help relieve the symptoms.

– Before touching your face or applying skin products, make sure to wash your hands thoroughly as it may cause bacterial infection due to open microchannels.

– Avoid any exfoliation on the treated area for 7 days.

– Avoid excessive alcohol for a week and lifestyle that would contribute to stress.

– Avoid saunas, spas, and strenuous exercise to prevent further inflammation until the skin returns to normal.

– Existing acne can be temporarily exacerbated post-treatment but it usually resolves within a week.

– Do not pick or squeeze pimples or acne if any as it may cause pigmentation.

– Avoid the use of skin care products containing active ingredients such as AHAs, Retinoids, and Vitamin C until your skin returns to normal.

Potential Complications:

– Minor flaking, dryness and peeling may last 7-10 days.

– Micro scabs may form but will fall off within a few days (7~10 days for face).

– You will see small blebs on your face after the Rejuran injection, however the blebs will disappear in 3 days.

– Swelling and bruising can occur on the day of treatment, bruising may surface in a couple of days after treatment and may last up to 2 weeks.

– Moderate erythema (redness), swelling and skin sensitivity (3-7 days).

– Post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation (darkening of the skin) : This can last from 2 weeks to 12 months and may resolve itself, however, you may need a prescribed cream to promote the healing the process faster.

– Development of infection that in rare cases could lead to scarring caused by picking, and failure to follow aftercare instructions.

– Petechiae (pinpoint red spots caused by bleeding) may occasionally occur immediately after treatment.

BioStimulant Treatment

Following Sculptra treatment, you may experience redness, tenderness, swelling or bruising to the treated area/s. These reactions are normal and will resolve quickly and spontaneously over the next 2–6 days.

Other side effects may include small lumps under the skin that are sometimes noticeable when pressing on the treated area. Larger lumps, some with delayed onset, with or without inflammation or skin discolouration, have also been occasionally reported. Please consult your healthcare professional.

To ensure you achieve optimal results it is important you adhere to the following aftercare advice:

• Massage the treated area for 5 minutes, 5 times per day, for 5 days after your treatment, according to your Practitioner’s advice.

• Use moisturising cream to reduce friction when massaging.

• Within the first 24 hours after your treatment, apply an ice pack or ice wrapped in a cloth (avoid putting ice directly on your skin) to the treatment area to help reduce swelling.

• Makeup may be applied after 24 hours.

• Avoid excessive sun, UV lamp exposure and excessive temperatures until swelling and redness have resolved.

• Avoid heavy exercise and saunas/steam rooms for 24 hours.

• Avoid any other cosmetic procedures in the treated area until the skin has healed completely.

• If you feel unwell or are concerned about any aspect of your treatment, contact the clinic.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

Q: How Soon Will I See the Results and How Long Will It Last?

A: When it comes to your Sculptra treatment, results are gradual: this means that changes are subtle, and usually aren’t apparent immediately after the first treatment. Improvements may last for up to 25 months after the initial treatment.

Individual results may vary.

Q: How Many Treatments Will I Require?

A: Initially, 2 or 3 treatments spaced 4–6 weeks apart. Results develop gradually as collagen production is stimulated and skin appearance improves. Maintenance doses every one to two years will prolong the effect.

Q: What Are the Side Effects of Sculptra?

A: Serious side effects are not common. The most common side effects after initial treatment include injection site swelling, tenderness, redness, pain, bruising, bleeding, itching, and lumps. Other side effects may include small lumps under the skin that are sometimes noticeable when pressing on the treated area. Larger lumps, some with delayed onset, with or without inflammation or skin discoloration, have also been occasionally reported. Talk to your Practitioner if you have any concerns about the safety of Sculptra or if you experience any side effects.
