– Don’t lie down for 4 hours post treatment – this particularly relates to not lying on your face (ie attending a massage) where your facial muscles are compressed or altered from their normal resting position as this may alter the effect of the product placement.
– Don’t touch the injection sites for 12 hours immediately following treatment – this reduces the risk of infection transmitted from hands.
– Don’t massage the treatment area for 24 hours – this ensures the product remains in the location where it was precisely placed to achieve the best effect.
– No strenuous exercise for 24 hours – this relates to product placement, reducing infection and reducing bruising and bleeding due to increased blood pressure and heart rate when exercising.
– Do not use a sauna or spa for 24 hours – this relates to infection control as well as bleeding and bruising reduction.
– Don’t drink alcohol for 24 hours post treatment – this relates to bleeding and bruising and minimizing the risk of product interaction.
– Be aware that it can take up to 14 days for the full effect of the treatment to take place – the majority of patients will notice a minor change in the strength of their muscles after 3 days, however the maximum effect occurs at 14 days and during this time there may be muscle asymmetry which is normal.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs):
Q: My filler has disappeared?
A: Rome was not built in a day. Your initial result will be largely due to swelling. Upon settling, it is up to the you to come back for more sessions every 4-8 weeks until your desired result and goal is achieved. Please keep in mind, most photographs seen on social media platforms are generally immediately post treatment where swelling and potential bruising is present.
All dermal fillers require maintenance every 6-9 months once you have received your desired result and goal, and durability varies depending on your genetics and lifestyle. This is not a one-off treatment. You should consider this when budgeting. In rare/unlucky cases the body can break down dermal filler at a much faster rate than normal, which affects the length of time to build desired results. We understand that this can be frustrating for the client, but it is not damaging.
Q: How many ML/Unit did they have?
A: This is similar to asking how long does it take to fill the pool? Well it depends on the size of the pool, how deep someone wants the pool, and how quick the water is evaporating from the pool?
Please don’t get too caught up in what worked for someone else, because your genetics are no doubt very different. Be prepared to go up or down a ML/unit during your appointment, as it is impossible to tell with precise accuracy how much product is required until we have started the appointment and we can determine depths. Please budget for this to avoid disappointment just in case you need more than expected on the day and don’t worry – if you need less, we will always tell you!!!
Q: Will I bruise?
A: More than likely. The face has millions of capillaries, which are impossible to avoid. Human anatomy is complex and unforgiving. You might be lucky – but be prepared and be realistic. Please be mindful of any important events post procedure.
World Health Organization published clinical data suggesting the prevalence of Anaemia. It affects 1.62 Billion people in the world’s total population, and the population with the greatest number of individuals affected is non-pregnant women (468.4 million). If you bruise significantly, we highly recommend purchasing Arnica Tablets to minimise the length of time the bruising is apparent (as per your pharmacist’s recommendation/advice). Your treating Registered Nurse recommends you seek medical advice (i.e. GP or Specialist) as a result of moderate to severe bleeding or bruising during your treatment.
Q: I’m travelling abroad or afar, will that make a difference?
A: Please make us aware if you have a lengthy journey (in excess of one hour), so we can do our best to ensure that there is a practitioner on standby in the event of our staff being unable to attend. Although this is rare – there is associated delayed complications that can occur post treatment. We recommend you to be in close proximity to BeautyFULL CMC in case of a potential complication for approximately 4 weeks.
Although rescheduling an appointment is rare, the clinic may require to reschedule your appointment. If your appointment is rescheduled, we cannot be held responsible for the cost of your travel expenses in the event an appointment is rescheduled. Please bare this in mind when booking and choose flexible booking options where possible.
Q: Will I get lumps?
A: Possibly, but in most cases, you cannot visibly see them. In the event that a lump/s forms that does bother you, the lump/s can be dissolved relatively safely (there is always a potential risk of allergic reaction, etc) with minimal pain. Minor lumps are relatively common and providing you go to an experienced practitioner, any lumps that may form will generally have nothing to do with the skill of the injector! Lumps can occur post bruising, choice of product, how well the dermal filler binds and integrates to your natural tissue and the interaction of different brands of HA being injected. However, it is important to remember that how our bodies react to dermal filler is unpredictable. Severe reactions are rare due to HA (Hyaluronic acid) being found naturally in the body.
– DO NOT PICK skin crusting as this may lead to a scar!
– Keep your skin hydrated by drinking water
– If you experience skin irritation, we recommend the application of a Cooling Face Mask
– Avoid Sun Exposure
– We do not advise the use of sunscreen immediately after the procedure. You can apply a mineral sunscreen once the skin has healed over, approximately 24 hours after your Skin Needling treatment. Sun Block with a SPF 50+ is mandatory and should be applied every 2 hours during daylight after 24 hours post treatment.
– Do not Use Skin Products Containing Active Ingredients
– The Skin Needling treatment will leave your skin in a highly sensitive state, so we recommend that you avoid all skin care products that contain any kind of ‘active ingredients’ such as retinol, alpha hydroxyl acids and Vitamin C.
– You can incorporate these products back into your regime 3-5 days after your treatment, or as recommended by your BeautyFULL CMC nurse.
– Avoid Using Makeup for at least 24-48 hours after treatment
– Using make up brushes can irritate the open skin, and if there’s any bacteria on the brushes you run the risk of developing a skin infection.
– Avoid activities or situations that make you sweat
– Prior to and immediately after don’t take any anti-inflammatory medications
– Use a Gentle Cleanser
– Do not use Collagen Stimulating Peptides

To maximise the potential healing effect from the PRP we strongly recommend the following guidelines:
Please seek advice from your GP prior to ceasing any medication for your PRP injection
2 weeks before the procedure
– Cease oral corticosteroids (eg prednisone) for 2 weeks prior to the procedure.
1 week before the procedure
– Do not take any blood thinning medications Aspirin or medications containing Aspirin for 5 days prior to the procedure.
– Supplements that are known to increase bruising should also be ceased; such as, Garlic, Ginko, Ginseng, Green Tea, Vitamin E, Multi-vitamins, Omega 3,6 and fish oils.
2 days prior to the procedure
– Discontinue any non-steroidal anti-inflammatory medications such as Nurofen, Ibuprofen, Voltaren, Celebrex, Mobic, or any other prescribed anti-inflammatory medications, for 2 days prior until 10 days after the PRP therapy.
– Minimal caffeine and fatty food and ideally have a healthy diet.
– At least 1.5 litre of water each day for good hydration.
– Try to have a good night’s sleep prior to the day of the procedure as it may assist a higher platelet yield.
Day of procedure
– Wash your hair and do not apply any hair products.
– Drink at least one litre of water.
– You will not be able to take any anti-inflammatories for ten days after the procedure. We suggest having some Panadol / Panadeine available in case you need some mild pain relief.
– We recommend that you follow the PRP Treatment Aftercare Instructions that have been provided to you, so that you can maximise the results from your PRP therapy.
The PRP material that has been applied to your skin is a natural substance extracted from your blood. Because of this, it is fragile, and needs to be treated carefully, especially in the first 48 hours so that it can do ‘its work’. Please take the time to read this information so that you can gain maximum benefit from the PRP therapy.
What to expect post injection:
The PRP application with its delivery of an abundance of growth factors to the skin works by stimulating your body’s normal healing response to aging skin. However, as the growth factors are more concentrated, the inflammatory and healing response is exaggerated. The application site may feel as if it has just been injured, potentially with a feeling of subtle soreness, tender to touch and increased warmth. These symptoms can last for up to 4 days and then they should ease.
All patients should be aware that the PRP application is not a “quick fix” and is meant to be used as part of a comprehensive skin rejuvenation program supervised by your GP, specialist or dedicated cosmetic clinic. As with normal medical guidelines, a healthy diet, minimal caffeine and alcohol and adequate sleep will allow your body the best chance for a good recovery. Individual patients healing will progress at different rates depending on their age, general health and condition of your skin. Most patients notice improvement in overall skin appearance by Week 4, with further improvements up to Week 12. Patients will usually require at up to 3 PRP applications, performed 4 weeks apart. Ongoing treatments are recommended on a 6-monthly basis to maintain skin health.
To maximise healing benefit from the PRP therapy we strongly recommend:
– After the PRP application to the skin, it is recommended not to wash your face or apply liquid make-up for at least 12 hours post-procedure. This is to allow platelets to activate and release growth factors to start the skin rejuvenation process. If you need to wash your face, please use warm water without soap.
– If you require pain relief, please use Panadol or Panadeine only (dose as usual for you).
– Please do not use any anti-inflammatory medication (e.g. Nurofen) or topical gel (e.g. Voltaren) or oral steroids (e.g. Prednisone) for 7 days post procedure.
– For patients who regularly take aspirin, you may resume it 48 hours after the procedure, unless otherwise directed by the attending Doctor for your procedure.
– Minimal alcohol, coffee, caffeine; and nil supplements that may increase bruising for 2 days post procedure.
– Nil exercise that would usually either create a flushed face or excessive facial perspiration for 24 hours.
– Very rarely, patients can have a significant response to the injected PRP, and local swelling at the cannula injection under eye area can occur. This is due to the body initiating a pronounced regenerative process in the area and will usually be evident at the time of the procedure. The treating practitioner will assess and apply ice for a short period to calm down the local response to minimise post procedure downtime. If progressive swelling should occur after you leave the clinic, apply ice wrapped in a cloth to the area for 5-10minutes.
– Although infections caused by the PRP are very rare, please contact the clinic who performed the PRP procedure if you experience progressive swelling after 24 hours, redness, skin oozing or changes, or fever, during business hours, or you may wish to seek review by your GP, or local Accident & Emergency if after-hours.
– Avoid alcohol, caffeine, hot drinks and spicy food for 24 hours, as these may exacerbate bruising and swelling.
– Avoid medications such as aspirin or nurofen (Ibuprofen) for 1-2 weeks as they are blood thinning agents and may exacerbate bruising (if these medications have been advised by your GP please check with your GP before stopping them).
– Avoid supplements such as multivitamins, fish oils, glucosamine and Vitamin B or Vitamin E, which are blood thinning agents and may exacerbate bruising for 1-2 weeks (if these supplements have been advised by your GP please check with your GP before stopping them)
– Avoid exercise/exertion for 24 hours
– Avoid excess sun exposure or solarium use for 24 hours
– Apply ice frequently as required to the area injected for up to 6 hours after the treatment. This will prevent or help to alleviate any bruising. It will also help to reduce any swelling.
MINT (Minimally Invasive Non-surgical Thread) is made of polydioxanone (PDO), a synthetic biodegradable monofilament that stimulates collagen production as it dissolves. There are a number of potential risks that you should be aware of prior to being treated with MINT. Whilst cosmetic treatments such as MINT are effective in most cases, there is a risk that it won’t be effective in your case or that the outcome will not be what you hoped for. The results of this procedure may not fully meet your expectations. Failing to achieve the outcome you hoped for or experiencing side effects may have a psychological impact as well as a physical one.
As with other similar treatments there are a number of possible side effects associated with MINT. These side effects include, but are not limited to:
– Treatment related reactions e.g. swelling, redness, pain, itching, discolouration or tenderness where the threads are placed. These reactions usually resolve spontaneously within several days after the treatment;
– After the treatment there can be puckering/irregularity of the skin which will resolve spontaneously within several days after the treatment;
– Adverse reactions to the implant material (bioresorbable suture threads) e.g. hypersensitivity reactions, allergic reactions, asymmetry, banding, dimpling, inflammation, infection, excessive bruising (hematoma), accumulation of fluid, inadequate healing, damage to deeper structures, sensory nerve injury, skin discolouration, localised circulation problems, blood clots or obstructions in blood supply or abscess formation at the implant site which may in turn result in hardening and/or scar formation;
– The formation of nodules (lumps) or granulomas (a collection of inflamed cells) which may require removal or other treatment;
– Other adverse reactions to those mentioned above, could occur.
If any of the above mentioned symptoms or signs occur, please alert your treatment provider or clinic immediately.
If you have any of the following, a MINT Thread treatment should not be undertaken:
– Acute inflammatory process or skin diseases in the area to be treated, acute respiratory viral infection, any chronic diseases in their acute phase, arterial hypertension, HIV infection, viral hepatitis, autoimmune and somatic diseases, haemophilia, propensity to form keloid scars, polyvalent allergy, oncological diseases, pregnancy, lactation, mental and neurotic disorders.

– Micro scabs may form but will fall off within a few days (7~10 days for face).
– You will see small blebs on your face after the Rejuran injection, however the blebs will disappear in 3 days.
– Swelling and bruising can occur on the day of treatment, bruising may surface in a couple of days after treatment and may last up to 2 weeks.
– Moderate erythema (redness), swelling and skin sensitivity (3-7 days).
– Post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation (darkening of the skin) : This can last from 2 weeks to 12 months and may resolve itself, however, you may need a prescribed cream to promote the healing the process faster.
– Development of infection that in rare cases could lead to scarring caused by picking, and failure to follow aftercare instructions.
– Petechiae (pinpoint red spots caused by bleeding) may occasionally occur immediately after treatment.
– DO NOT PICK skin crusting as this may lead to a scar!
– Keep your skin hydrated by drinking water
– If you experience skin irritation, we recommend the application of a Cooling Face Mask
